Recently had trees taken down, or plan to have trees taken down, that you would like to turn into usable boards, beams or live-edge slabs for some future projects?
We have a mobile sawmill based close to Penamacor on the way to Spain on our farm and we can cut your logs into valuable resources at you own location. The band saw mill will efficiently cut logs up to 76cm diameter, up to 3.1m length with the widest board of 76cm as well and with a self-sufficient ramp and winch so the logs can be loaded for cutting without additional help. We can advise you on the best way to maximize the yield from your trees.
You can drop your logs off to us at our farm and we can mill it for you where we can use our track extension and cut beams up to 5m long. Or we can bring the mill to you.
Accurate and repeatable cutting techniques. Cutting to requested sizes.
Don’t waste time and money transporting your timber, we come to you!
Keep all of your valuable resources, you will get pile of extra off-cuts and massive hill of sawdust.
No hidden costs. No hidden charges. Transparent, fixed pricing
We don’t require access like for a big truck transporting logs, easier and less disruptive for you
Process trees up to 76cm in diameter and 3.1m in length. Minimum length is 1.1m, shorter is possible, but takes extra support and time.
No damage to the surrounding vegetation or landscape.
Wood mill is powered by clean modern four stroke petrol engine, logs are loaded and manipulated manually, so there is no risk of any hydraulic fluid leaks.
Need to be able to drive in with standard size pick-up with a 6m long trailer. The location for the mill does not need to be perfectly flat, but can not be based on steep hill or muddy terrain.
You will be charged for time of milling plus time it takes to set up and pack away the mill. It will take about 20-30 minutes to get the mill setup and ready to work and about the same time to pack away. Minimum charge is two hours.
Best way to optimize loading time is to have all logs ready on one pile where I can position the mill about 2 meters alongside. Logs should be resting on some medium size branches to keep them off the ground for easier and faster manipulation and keeping them dry and clean.
To further speed up the operation it is best to provide help loading logs on the mill table and also unloading and stacking freshly cut boards.
Very important part that might save you a lot of time during milling operation is to clean/prevent any dirt or sand inside the bark of the trees, mostly with pine thick bark, otherwise it will quickly dull the blade and slow down the cutting. If sand, dirt or small rocks are present, bark will have to be stripped off, before cutting.
If any metal is hidden inside the tree, the cutting blade has to be replaced at extra costs. So be extra careful with trees on the corner of the properties which might have been used as fences or information posts.
Anything from 15cm of diamater up to 76cm can be cut. Expect extra time on very large logs due to slow manipulation and extra time on very small logs where the result is more off-cuts than usable lumber.
Machine can proces about 3-6 logs in an hour, which depends on log size and cuts you request.
